We were created in 1997 as the first truly global full-service media company. We are now a team of 6,000 people in 67 countries around the world.
MindShare China was established first in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou in November 1997.
China is a diverse and fragmented market. Different regions present different opportunities and challenges and given the vastness, MindShare management believed that in order to be truly national and having a genuine local touch, there was a need to have a strong presence in key regions. The plan was therefore to set up offices in key cities.
We opened new offices in Shenzhen and Chongqing in 2003, Fuzhou in April 2004, Nanjing in July 2005 (in partnership with a local agency) and finally in Hangzhou (in partnership with a local agency) and Chengdu in 2006.

MindShare has now become the leading media company in China, managing over 1,270 million dollars in billings annually (source: RECMA 2006 Agency Ranking Report). MindShare is China's largest investor in syndicated media research. It is also the largest investor in proprietary media research and optimization tool development including 3D, AdNetwork and Drama Database.
We're called MindShare because it describes what we do and how we do it. We work collaboratively to enable our clients to gain a greater share of consumers' minds.
We're in business to achieve fame and money for our clients' brands. This requires two balancing forces: creativity and accountability. So we combine original thinking with brilliant execution. Like magic and logic, or yin and yang, it's a perfect combination.
We have a great track record in industry innovation - in negotiation, analytics, consumer research and global account consolidations. We are also proud to have been selected as Advertising Age's Global Media Agency of the Year for two years' running.
MindShare is part of GroupM, the media parent company of WPP.
